CDs & DVD

Main influences over the years ? there are so many too name ….. I absolutely rate loads of dj’s …but my biggest influences would be have to be Carl Cox, Westbam and Guy (Bassy G), not forgetting the late Tom Wilson RIP ( he did so much for the scene)

Until just recently , just less than a year ago I was absent from the scene for about 8 years and a friend of mine encouraged me to come back ...So glad I did. Loving the Hardstyle, but still love the hardcore… I certainly haven’t given up with the old skool either, it was what brought me to the scene as it did so many people. I like my trance too. Its all about been able to adjust to the needs of the ravers

Favourite tunes from the past and what is my current favourites ....... why did I ask myself this one ? hard one this …so many to chose from. From the past .. up there would have to be Love Decade – Feel So Real!

Dye Witness – The Future. but so many would be up there !!! …. In my box currently I would have to say Showtek – FTS (This is what I love and cant stop lovin' get wasted at parties from 9 till 7 in the morning) you all know the rest of it. Hard`Onez - World Domination and Scope DJ - Lockdown / Protocol.

My Top 10 tunes of all time would be a better way to do this so

1. Dye Witness – Masterplan and The Future ( I know that’s 2 )
2. Force Mass Motion - Panic
3.Quench - Dreams
4.Ultrasonic - Obsession
5.The Event – Bass Generator
6. Westbam – Wizards of the Sonic
7. Chill FM – Strobelight (Technotrance remix)
8. N-Joi - Anthem
9. Ruffneck Alliance – Don’t fu*k with a Ruffneck
10.Neophyte - Catastrophe

Where I've played

Fantazia , The (Legendary) Nosebleed , The Core, Fubar , Fubar Ibiza beach party , The Forum, Sweatbox, Jigsaw just to name a few

DJ Ballistic Interview

How did you first get into the scene?
Back in 1991 …. Sunday nights at the old Jackio in Kirkcaldy – 1st real insight into the new dance music scene …

What was the first record you ever bought?
Ooh hard one to remember …actually erm it was on 7” vinyl – erm Slade – Merry Christmas LOL ….

How would you describe your music?
Bangin !! Varied !! Bouncy!!

What other artists do you rate?
What a question !!! So many too name ….. I absolutely rate loads of dj’s …biggest influences would be Carl Cox, Westbam and Guy (Bassy G), not forgetting the late Tom Wilson RIP ( he did so much for the scene)

You had been out of the scene for a few years what made you unpack the records again and how do you think the scene now compares to a few years back ?
Truth? Someone put the idea back in my head.. (Cheers Sweets). The scene is now looking healthy again…. Will it ever be as good as the old days ? not sure , but here’s hoping

Back in the old days and quite recently you when you came back into the scene you were playing the oldskool vibe, and now you have moved to the hardstyle, can you explain why?
Not really moved to Hardstyle, just added it my genre. I still love the hardcore… this is just progression. I certainly haven’t given up with the old skool either, it was what brought me to the scene as it did so many people. I like my trance too. Its all about been able to adjust to the needs of the masses

Back in the day you use to dj at the legendary NOSEBLEED and SWEATBOX nights can you share any funny stories or memorable nights from then ?
Erm ….plenty of nights that were memorable …Prodigy at Sweatbox, The night the Ruffneck dj squad didn’t turn up at Nosebleed and I had to play 2 sets…… it absolutely rocked that night… Funny stories? Loads but cant possibly repeat em on here LOL

What’s the maddest thing you have ever done after a gig?
Erm drove 100’s miles for a party. Arrange beach parties after Rez’s in Fife …. They were the bizz !!!!

What would you say you fav tune would be from the past ,what’s your present fav and do you have any in your record box that you see as being big in the future?
Wow hard one this …so many to chose from. From the past .. up there would have to be Love Decade – Feel So Real !!! Dye Witness – The Future. Among lots of others…. In my box currently I would have to say Showtek – FTS (This is what I love and cant stop lovin' get wasted at parties from 9 till 7 in the morning) you all know the rest of it. Hard`Onez - World Domination and Scope DJ - Lockdown / Protocol

Do you have a particular favourite party you've played at be it in uk?
Nosebleed…has to be. Fantazia will be my the next big thing for me !!

Any you would rather forget?
No not really , I enjoyed myself wherever I went

Where will Dj Ballistic be in 10 years time?
LOL , pipe and slippers (oh maybe that’s where I should be now) Seriously still doing what I love

In four words describe yourself
ha ha Anyone that knows me will say…..I'm Nuts, A Nice guy,

What can we expect from yourself in the judgment day arena at Fantazia all stars?
Haha Need to wait and see , but I am so looking forward to it…..Madness !!!!!!!!!!!!

What can we expect from Dj Ballistic in 2008? your plans ,gigs?
Bring em on , starting with Fantazia , available for weddings , funerals LOL. A fantastic year !!!! Sensation Black in July 2008 !! yeessss

Just for fun ,if you were putting on a major event along the lines of fantazia all stars what would be you dream line-up and who would you like to play alongside?
I wouldn’t have enough time to put everyone on that would be my dream, there’s so many… LOL ….. Here’s a sample though – Ruffneck Alliance, Dye Witness, Bassy G, Tom Wilson (RIP), Korsakoff (she's lush) Smurf (cos hes mad as LOL) Carl Cox, Westbam, Human Resource, Neophyte, Donkey Rollers, Dj Showtek, Big Alec, LOCO, XXX, Gavzie, Korrupt, Cyclone, Robbie Dee……just to name a few !!

I know you have a fetish for hi-res jackets, large glow sticks and hard hats, is this something you have had since childhood? Explain why ?
Lol …..hahaha, just madness … something we can develop maybe…..

The scene is Scotland has grown from strength to strength over the last few years with Fantazia, Colours/BTTF and now the return of Rezerection, do you think the scene is now bigger than a few years ago ?
Not as big as the early , middle 90’s, but bigger than the late 90’s its getting there. Carl Cox said some years ago that the music would go full circle and so would the scene…..its looking like its gonna come true

Last question.
If you were stuck on a desert islands what would be the three things you would miss ? My music, My Car and my fags LOL….oh and beer ….yeah that’s 4 but who’s counting
