MC EaziWhat's your name? Wullie Breen
What's your stage name? MC Eazi
Where are you from? Livingston, Scotland. |
| More Info |
Why did you start MC'ing? I had been at my very first rave which was a Streetrave event 1989 at The Livingston Forum (only the proper old skool will remember the forum), saw Hooligan X on the stage and was mesmerised how this one guy could get every single person in the place to put their hands in the air at the same time just by saying one line on the mic.
What was first gig? First gig was 1990 at Melvilles Nightclub in Livingston. With live PA from Zero B. DJ's were ZBD, Andy Gavin, GT Sampler 3 DJ's for a twelve hour event!!! Wouldn't be heard of now!!
Did you resident anywhere? From the beginning of Awesome101 until the end. And various clubs as well.
So your first gig was Melvilles Nightclub, How did it go? Cant really remember, I was so nervous I had a couple too many to ease the nerves, but I do remember everyone I passed shaking my hand and telling me I was great at the MC'ing. What a buzz that was.
What other events did you then play at then? I played all over Scotland really at events such as the early Maelstrom , Awesome 101, The Bunker East Calder , Jigsaw at The Lido Kirkcaldy, Fubar Stirling Pleasuredome Liverpool , 051 Club Liverpool to name a few.
Best moment as a MC? That's easy has to be at my first big arena rave on stage I finally get to do what had got me started wanting to be the MC in the first place. "THE HANDS IN THE AIR" shout I'd watched the Hoooooligan do AND it was in the same venue the Livingston Forum. What am amazing feeling runs through your body when 2000 people put their hands in the air at a piano rift. wow.
Did you achieve everything you set out to? God yes...and then some...seriously I didn't think I'd last one night. I've met some of the best people and are still friends with most of them.
Did you win any awards in your time MC'ing? Yes 1992 I won Scotland's Number 1 MC as voted for by the listeners of Tom Wilsons Stepping Out Show on Forth FM.
Did you also play in a band? I also played in a band with my good man Tony Aungsoe And Tracy B the singer, tony was the brains behind Massive. We got a record deal in London with Equator Records which was quite an achievement for a couple of guys who simply loved the whole dance/rave scene. Later I would also MC for the huge Liverpool band New Atlantic who had the hit (I Know).
Who do you respect from the scene? All the old skool massive. Tom Wilson (god bless him) RIP. MC Chase (legend) RIP. DJ Joe Deacon Of The Metro in Saltcoats Ayrshire, 102 on his next birthday and still going strong.
Any Shout Outs? Just to all the old skool early day ravers who made it a great part of my life...Thanks. Also to DJ ZBD MC Voyager...MC Gavzie...all the Awesome 101 crew To Gary Archibald for giving the chance to fulfil my dream and my start in to MC'ing.
