Q2 – Were did that name come from
Get asked this a lot as serge is an unusual name lol.

All started when I played golf used to say when a had a few good holes I was on serge ,Then my mates started to call me big serge , Then when I had to make an mc name I thought that has a nice ring and there it began Mc serge lol, A lot of people do think it comes from Beverly hills cop 3 lol

Q3 – What gave you the initial push?
Had been a massive follower of the dance scene since I was like 10 years old
Tapes form cousins mates dad’s brothers you name it. Used to sneak into the metro at age 14 Aww the good old days. But after The second fantasylands I began thinking about how the Mc’s control the crowd and get everyone going ,thought I could do that ,and a fancy a bit of it , first few months I thought it over then when my mate said fancy doing a bit of Mc-ing in Morgan’s it took off from there

Q4 – Who's throwing the best parties at the moment?
This is a tough question as there are a lot of people throwing good parties but a would have to say Eruption my own event lol , Bttf ,Fantazia , Judgment day Twisted and brain fire As well outbreak promotions , Still a lot of parties I have to experience and would like too as well

Q5 – What other countries have you played gigs in?
Well apart from Scotland I have played in England and also in Tenerife. The gig I did in England was with deck dance promotions on a hard style tip and the same again in the highlander bar in Tenerife.

Q6 – what’s the best event I have played at/ Put on
That’s a tough one as I have done a lot of good events and hopefully the promoters who book me think so to. But if pushed a would probably say the judgment day on the 5th of December 2008. Done 6 sets that night think that really gave the confidence and energy I needed at the time. Although all parties I do have a place in my hart., Well I have only run one of my own nights so far so that’s the best to date lol

Q7 – What’s your favourite tune off all time
For me that’s easy Scott brown now is the time loved it for years ,See when the bass kicks in I act like a wee boy :)
I love it

Q8 – When all the partying is over how do you like to chill out
Well away from the gigs I Play football for my local amateur team defender and good one at that

So that’s twice a week training and games on a Saturday. Also like to relax with the good lady Loren and chill with a few beers or a bottle of wine with a good DVD. And you cant beat a take away on a Saturday they should make that law by the way J
And of course out with the lads. With work as well am generally busy all the time ,And if I get the chance a look at the Fantazia forum and bebo

Q9 – So how is the scene in your eyes at the moment
Booming there’s a credit crunch on. And up and down the country ravers are still out showing there support ,But Scotland is the place to be with like of Fantazia eh,1 colousrfest judgment day bttf and twisted and brainfire ,The ravers have a great variety in choice of both home grown and international talent. In my eyes anyway

Q10 – What is your real name, and how old are you.  Well my real name is Ross McKinnon and am 23 years old.  That sounds like a dating add , But nearly everyone calls me serge including my mum

Q11 – Were do you live
Well it’s a small town called Kilbirnie just ten minutes before largs
Not that a lot of people will no were that is

Its in north Ayrshire

Q12 – What can I remember of being at Fantazia
Well so far I have been just as a raver who has went to enjoy the party.  And I must say I have had some of the best nites out of my life there both in Scotland and England. This one how ever will be different as I will be performing on the main stage What a buzz I have already

Q13 – Other Dj's And Mc’s I rate
There’s loads and loads.  But the likes of Bassy G, Obsession, Sebo, Fx, Mikey B, G-mac plus many more.  On the Mc front Guys like loco and ribbz are immense as well as whizzkid and storm They no what to do and when to do it

Q14 – What’s your feeling on Mc’s
My feelings are simple on this not all sets need Mc’s I think there’s a fine balance to be found , However an Mc can defo help take a set a lot higher then just a dj ,The crowd sometimes cant see the Dj but can see the mc and there actions and this can make peoples night as well, Also I am not a great fan of people who think they are world class but are not, Don’t talk to much and let the music breath no the music and no when to talk. That’s what I think anyway

Q15 – What’s the funniest thing that ever happened at an event
Probs at one of the nights I done I ended up Block naked with a pair of woman’s pants on and cuddling a fellow mc lol

Was all in the nature of having a good night

Q.16 – What advice would you give to any dj mc or Promoter
Dj’s and Mc’s stick at it practice away ,Show people your skills send in demos get feedback good or bad its all a learning experience , On a promoting side am new to things but trust your instinct and do a bit of research before hand and don’t gamble with your lively hood.

Q17 – When you perform is anything pre planned
Recently I have started to write some short lyrics but normally I go with the flow of crowd and take it set at a time. I love interacting with the party people and am particual to a stage dive lol

Q18 – knightrider or a team
Neither Dukes of hazard all the way :)

Q19 – beer or cider
Both snake bite is the future my friends

Q20 – what would u like to say to the Fantazia massive
Guys your are amazing I have been in amongst you for the last few fantazia’s and must admit the buzz and the atmosphere is second to none , Cant wait to see you guys on the main stage in September, Until then stay real and remember it’s a reflection of the past with a view to the future
