MC Potta - Profile 2009

Potta MC a.k.a ‘Charlie Potter’ was born in Harrow, London in 1989. He moved to South Africa in 1992 where he remained for 5 years before returning to the UK. Upon his return, a very young Potta started showing a great interest in music, trying his hand at the violin, guitar and trombone.

However, it wasn’t until the age of 15 when he invested in his first set of turntables that he discovered his true passion for music, and Drum and Bass in particular.

Five years on and Potta is undoubtedly fast becoming one of the South-East’s biggest up and coming Drum and Bass MC’s. At the tender age of 20 he has already played out alongside some of the scenes biggest DJ’s such as Pascal, Kenny Ken, Pleasure and Taxman to name a few. He has also enjoyed some back-to-back sessions with the likes of MC Fun, Bensta, Deefa, Speach and more.

Recently, Potta has teamed up with artist manager Shakira Elliott. Together the two are taking leaps and bounds at bringing in new talent and getting various bookings around the South.

Two - thousand and nine is set for Potta to collaborate with even more big MC’s and DJ’s as well as performing nationwide. With interest now being shown from promoters not only from the UK but internationally too, Potta’s future looks bright.
