What should I wear? The Braehead Fantazia arenas are all undercover, any outdoor areas are slabbed/ tarmac, so there's no need to worry about getting bogged down in muck or grass. Trainers are allowed.
The arena floors often get slightly damp throughout the night especially if its been raining so its best to keep in mind that a pair of brand new white trainers/ fluffies etc are gonna have a good chance of getting pretty messed up.
Also its a good idea to wear something with a little grip, as arena floors & stairs often get quite slippy, its not unusual to see peeps landing on their arse. Other stuff Peeps often dress up for a bit of fun, from fancy dressed costumes to rave wear. Blokes can often be seen kicking about in boiler suits, dust masks, high visibility vests etc and the gals anything from cyber rave wear to custom made outfits. Opening Times As with Clash Of Titans opening times for Allstars has been extended, the gates will now open at 6.30pm with the event finishing at the usual time of 4am. The Fantazia Forum Members Meet The Fantazia forum meet is usually held at 9.00PM on the night, in the House arena.
Location of the house arena:-
Probably the easiest way to find the house arena/ room is by walking through the main arena entrance (which is situated directly below the house room) and climbing the main arena stairs situated at the very back of the main arena (furthest away from the main stage) at either side of the main arena entrance. This will take you up to the high level so your looking down on to the main arena floor (some view BTW). Straight in front of you, after climbing the main arena stairs at the rear, you will see a large doorway/ alcove opening, this is the entrance through to the high level Arena 3 house room. In here to left as you walk through you will find a bar, toilets and also the VIP room, to the right you have the dance floor. The rear wall is made of mainly glass windows where you can look down on to the Judgement Day arena outside. Its round about here all the Fantazia forum crew met up last time. Just look out for those Fantazia Tee's VIP passes ...by Mad Elaine. Take yer letter wi you, you will be required to go in a separate queue, last time the booth for this was in the shape of a white rabbit. When ya get to the front of the queue, hand over yer ticket & yer letter, they will find the number on the letter, this may take a while, & issue ya with a wristband, last time bought VIP's got a red one. PLEASE NOTE: This wristband only lets ya into ONE area, behind the house room!!! DO NOT try & persuade Security to let ya backstage at either the main arena or the outside tents, they will not, yer band has to be a different colour for that. Please also note this will NOT prevent ya from meeting or seeing yer fave DJs, for example, Smurf likes to bob around the main part of both hardcore venues, plus Bassy! likes to hang out wi Smurf, or at the bar, any bar, as long as it's a bar!!! Several other DJs may come out & socialise too, or ya can catch them between arenas checking each other's sets out & having a bit of gossip. Hope this helps peeps!!! Merchandise Not had problems with getting my Glowsticks, whistles, gloves etc in to past events at the Braehead, normally I wear them around my neck down my T (glowsticks un-cracked). Don’t think most people had probs, but keep in mind the “back of the ticket” condition Nr 11.
It’s a good idea to bring a little extra money if you can manage it, Fantazia normally have a stall with all the Fantazia goodies on sale. If you’re lucky you’ll often spot DJ’s and MC’s , travelling between the Main and the second arena outside, makin the Braehead ideal if you’re an autograph hunter and want to get ya new purchase signed.
There are also a good few other stalls and shows, all with plenty other opportunities to spend ya dosh. Security When you reach the top of the queue sometimes your full ticket will be taken from you (venue policy), then asked to remove pocket contents followed by a “pat down” search complete with hand held metal detector scan. Ravers then proceed to a Police single file line up, where they’ll walk sniffer dogs up and down. The ticket terms often state you "may be screened by sniffer dogs" at all events I and the peeps I've been with have been added to the police line up for "screening" and both times I’ve seen peeps pulled out, so it appears that those little doggies know their stuff. The ticket terms often state that there will be amnesty bins on site should peeps wish to use them. The events are well manned throughout the duration of the night with both the police and event security in attendance. Personnel Possessions As like any event of this size, always remember to keep your possessions (i.e. wallet, purse, phone etc) close to you throughout the night. I heard of a good few loosing wallets, phones etc and even managed it myself lol. In a night of hrs of solid bouncing, suppose is quite easy to do, so phones & wallets in jeans front pockets (even with wallet chains) is probably the best idea, and if you’re a girl with ya purse in a rucksack or hand bag its probably best to pass important items on to a friend with front pockets etc to look after for ya. Drinks Braehead's licensed bar, is drink voucher only. You can buy vouchers from drink token kiosks inside the venue. The normal price for the drinks vouchers at Braehead events are 3 for a tenner (price set by venue includes soft drinks/ bottled water).
There is normally a free drink water tap situated just outside the main arena, so it might be an idea to ask the bar staff for a cup, or even tag along with a clear emtpy plastic bottle or somethin.
There are a few licensed bars quite close to the venue if ya wanna have a wee drink before you came in.
The Braehead "Xscape" complex is just across the road from the Braehead shopping centre (next to the venue). It has a couple of good cheaper bars which include "The Sno Bar" (upstairs) and a bar at the rear of its 10 Pin Bowling complex (Bowl Plex).
There is also a couple of places that sell drink in the shopping centre but not really with "pub" style atmospheres so ya might feel a little outta place. Food The closest good place for a munch is probably Burger King, which is a separate BK restaurant standing by itself across the outdoor car parks from the venue entrance.
Again the shopping centre has a food court with McDonalds etc, but probably not the best environment for ravers, and there is also the Xscape complex with has a number of "sit in" restaurants like TGI's etc, the "Sno Bar" upstairs also sells food.
Inside the venue last time around there was a burger van.
When ya inside the venue..... Smoking Smokin aint allowed inside public buildings unfortunately, but you can smoke outside where there's usually a massive bar, shows, portaloos etc. Cloakroom The cloakroom normally is under the stairs (massive glass window fronted building) on the left as you get in (across from the outdoor marquee).
