Fantazia - Showtime - 27/01/07 - Review 3

Its Showtime !!!!

Arrived at Braehead with my 2 mates Jim & Jim at about 7.30pm.   Gave Renato a call and arranged to meet up before joining what was already an enormous q. Still it didn’t seem to take too long to get to the door. A quick sniff from dogs and straight in, although the boy in front of me wasn’t so lucky as he was singled out for a wee strip search. Hope all was cool for him, as him and his mates had travelled all the way up from Leeds for the event. Was only in the venue 2 mins when I bumped in to Errol, nice to finally meet you mate. We then head to get some drinks and then on in to the main arena to have a bounce to Stu Allan. Some pretty decent tunes going on even if I thought it was a touch cheesy when we first went in. Met up with Renato and had a bounce whilst bumping in to a few forum members before the 4 of us headed up to the forum meet at about 8.45.

Actually found the house room this time and don’t know how I’ve never found it at previous events but guess I wasn’t looking too hard. Met up with quite a few of the forum peeps , great to meet you all and put faces to names. Then headed back down to the main arena for Altern 8. Thought they played a decent set it was good to see them doing there thing with the hoodies and dust masks on superb. Caught the 1st bit of N-joi then headed out to the main arena for a wee chill out before the special guest DJ who through a couple of sources I already knew was Mallorca. At some point met up with Zippy and her mate Angie (you guys were quality, hope u had a good un) and then headed back in to catch Mallorca. What a set again from him, best of the night I thought.

Headed back up to the entrance to the main arena with Zippy and co shortly after where I was introduced to some more of the forum members that I had missed at the meet. Once again great to meet all you guys, meeting u all made my night even better than previous events.

Then spent the rest of the night in and out of the main arena Thought Q-tex were superb and Ultrasonic. Enjoyed both these PA’s and thought they were a lot better than at the legend returns event. Bass Generator what can I say, superb the main arena was rockin. Caught about half of Lenny Dee and Frankie Bones set and thought it was spot on although I would have settled for 2 hours of hard gabba from the God they call Lenny Dee. Missed most of Chill FM, doh !!!! Headed across to the HTID arena for the 1st time of the night to catch smurf (Couldn’t be bothered q’ing to get in the rest of the time) Only ended up staying for a wee while which I was a bit gutted about as I was looking forward to listening to a bangin gabba set. Then headed back across to the main arena to catch the end of Scott Brown who was also bangin out the tunes. All of a sudden it was 4am and time to head home. Booo !!!

Well congrats to Fantazia on another superb event. To be honest I preferred the line up and the music better at Wonderland but meeting so many of you hardcore nutters just made my night and the atmosphere was 2nd to none. So I officially make this my best Fantazia yet. The Lasers were superb too. Just cant wait for the next instalment. Braehead again will do me fine. Thanks to Fantazia for putting on another quality night, The DJ’s , PA’s and MC’s for doing there thing so well, the Forum crew for being so Friendly and Mad and the Fantazia crew for being the No.1 Hardcore crowd in the world. I heard a rumour the next event will be having a 4th arena. Any chance of making it a Gabba / Hard Trance arena???
