Fantazia - Showtime - 27/01/07 - Review 5 by DJ Frankie Bones

LENNY DEE / FRANKIE BONES.

A very nice addition to the Fantazia line-up.

Lenny and myself have been doing this in the U.K. for 17 years now. But on different missions. I know Lenny has been a local hero amongst the ravers in Scotland for many years.

Frankie Bones is just a name that suggests some old dude that has been around from like 1989 in the U.K.

I know some of you think that time makes people really old and I could have possibly brought some old house which would have emptied the arena.

Lenny and myself were best friends in 1988. We built ourselves an empire from our dreams and visions. I planted the seed to raving in the states. Last night in Glasgow was an equal to the the Nocturnal Wonderland parties you would find in Los Angeles.

But whereas the U.S. scene has turned to commercial trance, your hometown hero's like Sharkey, Bass Generator, and Hixxy as well as Lenny have been staples for years.

So when I walk in the arena, Everyone wants to know what this guy us about? We come with the hard shit. It's Brooklyn style. A bit different then the norm but I loved the crowd, the sound and the results. You all made me feel like everything I have done for the past 17 years was well worth it. And I thank you all for giving me that chance, I had fun.

Many of you ravers and punters witnessed something that people in America have been hoping for for many years. And to this day it has not been realized.

Lenny Dee is a Scottish legend. You guys know him forever as being the Industrial Strength king. I want you to know I love Scotland. But somehow in the past 15 years I was bringing rave culture to America and have not been able to share my history in your country.

You punters have had it about the best anyone could have it. You have your own heroes and all Frankie Bones has been is a distant memory of a guy who might as well be Grandpa as top Rave DJ.

Both Lenny and myself have known each other for almost 20 years. And when we walked into the arena I turned to Lenny and said, LEN...I want you to remember the days when Industrial Strength was your vision. Play like we were in Brooklyn. Play like Nicky Fingers was still amongst us. (Nicky passed away in 1997).

I love Lenny when he just brings it. I followed his lead. We played tracks neither of us practiced or talked about. Straight Hardcore Rave music from various era's. I loved the event. I gave it my 100%. I wanted you to feel the Brooklyn side. We are not happy ravers. We are hardcore by design.

And I think the crowd could feel that edge and respected that we came with the hard shit. I loved you guys for making me feel at home. I still spin every week, I never stopped. Now you gave me reason to even want to do more.
