For me this event seemed to take ages coming around since i bought my ticket. In the week running up to it this event seemed to be getting loads of  press, the local news on the telly even had a bit of it! The promoters had offered all the local residents a wad of cash to decamp for the night. A few of them were unhappy at the thought of 15,000 ravers were going to be in a field adjacent to there homes!

After about an hour the coach slowly made it's way to the venue, you could see the massive marquee to our right, while on the left they were a small row of houses. It seemed that some of the local residents were not as unhappy as the press were making out as some were joining in the party mode by holding bar barbecues in there gardens and cheering as the row of coaches and cars made there way by!!

We quickly joined the queue and before long passed by the the security and made our way into the venue. There was a small marquee to our left so we went there first but as we approached there was a few guys telling us there was a small admission charge for this marquee as it was full of shit like bouncy castles, Velcro walls , etc... Fuck that after all I had already paid a  massive 28 quid plus booking fee for this event!! After this we soon made our way to the massive marquee past the fairground. This marquee was filling up nicely the first thing we noticed was the sound!!! According to the flyer this was a 120k sound rig, apparently the best in the UK with the greatest sub bass capability! And who am I to doubt it - it was fucking loud alright...just the way I like it! Also a top lighting and laser rig to  boot! There was another third marquee away to the right however I wasn't near all night so cant really comment on that!

After a short while the first pa of the evening from Q-Tex, I'd never heard of them before and they weren't mentioned on the flyer but I'm sure I'd see a lot of them over the next few years - top pa! Next up was a DJ followed by a pa from New Atlantic which seem to go down well with the crowd. Next up was the DJ Marc Smith who opened up his set by playing 2001:a space odyssey ..what a rush! Before cutting and scratching his way through a storming hardcore set! After Marc's set time for another pa... this time from Shut Up And Dance featuring the vocal talents of Pete Bouncer - great set - playing Raving I'm Raving twice. Stepping into the arena now was none other that the DJ Kenny Ken who played a set of rolling baselines which really brought the best out in the sound system! One more pa to go this time from one of the rave scenes top pa's ..Dream Frequency. First time I'd seen DF live and they did not dissapoint.5 am came round all to quickly with the DJ Tom Wilson (RIP.) stepping up to play a set of anthems for the last hour.

DEA's first party seemed to go down a storm with everyone who attended it and I couldn't wait for their next one. On the Monday after the event the news showed some top quality footage from the event and interviewed one of the promoters who said he was disappointed with only half of the 15,000  tickets being sold, however they were going to press ahead with another 15,000 party later in the summer, however by the Tuesday the news reported the receivers had been called in.... what a fuckin bummer!  by Fastbuck
