Chris PerceptionChris Perception's involvement in the rave scene started in Cheltenham around 1989. After becoming involved in running Black Tie balls with James Fantazia he decided to do his own thing and started holding raves. His first event in association with Gideon Dawson was a the Brunel Rooms in Bristol under the brand Perception. This event was a success. Following this they reunited with James Fantazia lead them to set up a small dance club called Trance which became a weekly sell out event drawing crowds to Cheltenham from across the South West. Chris once again broke away and buying the license for a Black Tie ball from someone else turned the outdoor party into the second Perception rave. It was at this event that Universe came about when one of its backer who was responsible for the Marquees decided they could do their own events in their own local area. Chris eventually left Perception after some fall outs with its backers and went on to form in order Mythology, Vision and then Devotion, all of which held big raves. After a spell running Fantazia's Australian event company from 1993 to 1995 he returned to the UK and formed Godskitchen (with Tyrone DeSavery) which became one of the UK Super Clubs that dominated dance music in the late 90's. The brand also set up the still successful Global Gathering festival. Chris Perception decided running a global marketing brand was not for him left the company in the 2000's to invest in property with some success.
