Cyperpunk on Techno Stilts

Robots and raving have were synonymous during 92 wit the faceless space-age beings becoming characters in their own right.  One of the best known must have been Bill the Robot alias Cyberpunk on Techno stilts.   He was the metallic monster on the Altern 8 video,  did the splits on stage at Reincarnation and was the enormous 14' high robot at Raindance.  You may have seen him at Elevation, Telepathy and numerous other events up and down the country.   Bill before being the raving robot had been working in a non-animal circus until he met a laser man and together they developed a laser robot for Glastonbury.

As techno music has a futuristic feel, so raving and robots became ideal partners.  Lots of ravers can dance robotically, but the Cyberpunk made an art out of raving, roller skating and dancing on stilts.   He took a lot of care over his costumes and much thought had to go into the designs and weight of the material used.    More complications was added with the use of mirrors to reflect laser beams.   The shows were always  carefully choreographed with the laser operator, and the overall effect was always stunning.
