Amnesia House Event Review

A special night as it was my birthday weekend and Amnesia House had been chosen from a cast of many to become hosts for what I was sure was going to be a good night. This time going for an old fave’ of mine - Jungle, and that’s exactly what I got.

Although we arrived late we still experienced a short wait outside, but were soon in the warmth of The Edge, Coventry, the venue which had been chosen by Amnesia House for a night, we had already realised, was going to be very busy.

After the search a walk upstairs took us to room 2 which at the time was playing some old Hardcore, which I suppose some might now call Garage. It was hard not fast, so upstairs I went to be met by scores of people, lapping up the tunes from DJ’s like Fabio, Grooverider, Jumping Jack Frost and many more. The night went on and I danced all night, apart from a visit downstairs to the chill out room, where I got a cup of tea and had a ‘chat’, whilst others fell on the cushions to watch the screen and float away in pure ecstasy.

The DJ’s all played well apart from one who seemed to pick me up and drop me down, but that may have just been me. Stu Allen was my personal favourite of the night, maybe due to the time he played but kept it hard and fast, no drop downs and on a buzz the whole set through. MC Lennie stared on the night, flavoured the night with his unique style along with the likes of Man Paris. Hi-Fi and the man himself, Amnesia’s own Loud’N’Nasty. They kept the crowd well on top in true Amnesia House style.

The night for me passed too quick, as the lights came on I didn’t want to leave. Everyone wanted to continue to dance but politely left as some extra tunes had generously already been played.

Room 2 featured different styles of DJ’s all night, keeping the 2nd option varied so you could take a break from the Jungle room, at selected times throughout the night. The atmosphere was stable and everyone seemed to have an excellent time, we have received letters of praise already so looks like everyone experienced a good vibe. The sounds and lights were to Amnesia’s usual standard and backing and netting all around made you regain the Amnesia House buzz from back before the Donnington Park day’s.
