Dance Nation & Entropy
The Club filled the gap left by Shelleys - which played House- for a Hardcore night in Stoke-on-Trent. Entropy began life in the small room at the back of the Longton Leisurebowl (above Longton Bus Station) with a capacity of 300. The club quickly grew in popularity to the point where many people were being turned away each night. The club moved from the back room in September 1991 to a new larger room converted from an old snooker hall in the same building, with the original room becoming the chill out area. The promoters of Entropy then decided to move into the big one of all-nighters market. There nights were called "Dancenation" and they held a number of successful events, one at Weston Park, South Stafford and one at Speed Karting in Warrington which was a 10,000 sell out! In March 1992 following reports in local press about drug abuse at Entropy and the sad ecstasy related death of one of the party goers in November 1991, the club was refused its entertainment license at the Leisurebowl. Entropy, deciding appeals would be unsuccessful, decided to move up the road to Shelleys, taking the Friday spot there. These ran for 2 months until the arrival of Club Kinetic in early May 1992. |
