Dreamscape V Review

Evolution 18th December 1992

Well to be honest we didn't expect an overwhelming turn out due to the fact the event was so close to Christmas so we were pleasantly surprised when we turned into Bond Street,  Hull to see a queue all the way to the end of the street, and the doors had been open an hour.  We didn't realise the reputation that Dreamscape had, and were glad we decided to go.  There were about 2000 people at the event and there would have probably been more if a rumour had not been put about that the event was cancelled,  we had calls all day from people saying that they had heard it was off,  if you stayed at home thinking it was off, sorry but you missed a right bollocks of a night.

The atmosphere was great and there was absolutely no trouble at all.  All of the attractions on the flyer were at the event except the moving inflatable, well if it was there we didn't see it.  The lasers were excellent and as always enhanced the night no end.  All the DJs turned up except Ratty and due to bad weather Ratpack & Top Buzz only arrived at the end, still wasn't bad as there were no less than 20 DJs on the flyer.  MC Natz even turned up and wasn't on the flyer,  Christ he gets everywhere!  The Evolution Crew were pleased to see Natz as he is resident MC on a Friday and everyone seemed pleased once he got going.

Evolution the perfect venue for the rave events having a tremendous amount of floor space for dancing, 2 floors so 2 DJs can play at once and you choose your style of music.  The security provided by Dreamscape were every bit as good as Evolutions own,  all searches carried out firmly but raver friendly - certainly no empting of bags on the floor.

There were a few problems through the night but they were quickly overcome.  The music cut off at one point but soon came back on and MC Chalky White soon got everyone back on their high.  Some dickhead decided to block a toilet in the gents and caused a flood which quickly poured onto a stairway and caused wet floors throughout the building- people had to share the ladies but no one seemed to mind,  if the culprit had been found he would have found himself on his way home - perhaps you should return to your beer monster friends if you're reading this.  Top Buzz was on last upstairs and certainly gave a top buzz to Jim and his MAD COUGH MIXTURE posse from Lincoln,  he passed out and was helped outside for some fresh air, luckily  uninjured.

Evolution is now closed until 15th January for a quarter of a million pound refit, including a new laser and sound system.

Respect to the Dreamscape Crew!!!
