Universe - Final Frontier - Club Review

We arrived at one of the cities premier clubs, the UK Club, after a journey searching for the venue around the busy streets of London, we remember our arrival, finding a tank parked on the side of the street, with a large fish on top of it, and some other just as wacky vehicles. After parking up we made our way to the busy, packed club, full of just what we expected - a crowd similar to that at a Universe show.

Loads of happy-go-lucky people just out to have fun, people with their shirts off and people well dressed, but no one with a problem against anyone else. This club is being run by the 2 men behind the Universe organisation and with this opportunity to put in to practice some long awaited ideas, this looks like it’s going to be a promising club.

The vibe in the club was second to none, the whole place was absolutely rocking! The layout of the place is brilliant, very underground. Rooms leading off into others and easy to get confused and lost, or so I thought, unless it was just me. Whatever, it was a good set up. Lights and other visuals were to a high standard and the sound systems were pumping out some excellent tunes all night. 2 rooms offering a selection of music from Ambient through to the main room which was predominantly Techno and Trance.

Sure to be set as one of the leading clubs in this field, it’s hard to see that this club will draw in party goers from all over, to experience the well known and well loved Universe vibe. Most of my night was spent with top off, hands all over place, in front of a massive banging speaker. The music in the main room could be summarised as a selection of the best tunes around today which varied and were different all night. This was down to the well thought out selection of DJ’s who were obviously chosen for their individual styles, DJ’s like, Carl Cox, Dave Angel and not forgetting of course the live, impressive set from Cosmic Baby.

Although the place was very busy around midnight, it did start to thin out later in the night but it must be said there was always room to dance and enjoy yourself. As the beginning of the end arrived I didn’t want it to stop and was as disheartened as everyone else when the music came to a final end.

All that remained was the memory of a night hard to forget and we are eagerly looking forward to our next visit. Trance Techno increasing in popularity every week this night will turn out to be a most definite winner.

Club UK is a weekly event, all night long from 10pm till 6am. If you are a member you will be pleased with the production when you get in. Security know the score, so make sure that you do, anyone looking for anything less than a brilliant night, may as well stay away....
