CDs & DVD

Seamlessly mixing and layering together cutting-edge electro, new techno, hip-hop and dirty house, he spins a dance-floor-filling fast-changing selection of quality dance music, whether he’s rocking parties such as Hanoi’s massive Friendship Cultural Palace or at Sao Paulo’s legendary underground institution D-Edge. A regular visitor to Brazil (he’s already toured five times) he also frequently performs in London, Berlin, the Czech Republic, the Balkans and beyond and every summer returns to Ibiza, where he’s recently become a resident DJ at Pacha.

The hugely prestigious residency sees Jonty spinning in Pacha’s legendary GLOBAL Room, dubbed ‘the creative heart of the club . . . where the most experimental genres are heard’, as Pacha put it, kicking off in June on David Guetta’s F**k Me, I’m Famous night.

In between Ibiza trips, he headlines Berlin’s Tresor again (in June and August) and flies back to Lithuania (Pacha Vilnius), Czech Republic (Fleda and Summer Of Love Festival) and Bosnia (Neofest International Peace Festival) plus Estonia and Sweden (Secret Island Party) for the first time.

With his background spinning at uber-cool mixed/gay scene parties in London, Brazil and in his new home town of Berlin, he’s as comfortable playing to fashion conscious hipsters as he is to thousands at superclubs and festivals, such as in China on New Years Eve 2007. 6,000 Beijing locals gathered for the city’s first (western style) outdoor New Year event, while one year later 2000 Vietnam kids saw him headline Hanoi’s first ever large scale DJ event.

Recently diving into music production, his very first track Train Wreck was immediately snapped up by Radio 1 DJ Judge Jules who ended up creating his own version of the electro-tech original, which now features on Jules’ new artist album Bring The Noise (out now on Maelstrom Records). Jules’ tranced up edit (credited to Jules and Jonty jointly) has also been licensed to new compilation Miami Trance Anthems (New State Recordings), finishing off the mix after tracks from the likes of Ferry Corsten, Tiesto and Cosmic Gate.

On the remix front, meanwhile, he’s delivered a ferocious floor friendly remake of techno-rockers Motor’s upcoming single ‘Death Rave’ which comes out on T Raumschmiere’s Shitkatapult in May. The remix has already received enthusiastic support from the likes of the Chemical Brothers, Terence Fixmer, DJ Fergie and Pete Tong talent spotter Nico De Ceglia and looks well set for major summer crossover success.

Jonty also continues to publish his hugely influential and acclaimed weekly sex-drugs-clubs & politics e-zine Skrufff-E (available athttp://www.skrufff.com which also hosts his brand new blog (and associated Wed 2.0 activities).
