Big names in the old skool world such as Timeless and Seduction took over at Bowlers running successful nights until the late 90's when it was decided that the club would now do monthly events held by Compulsion.

The venue could hold 3-5000 people and original was held weekly from 9pm - 3am.    Resident DJs were John Waddiker, Kenny Grogan & Bowa.

Fantazia held an event at Bowlers for 4000 in 1993,  our download section includes footage.   For Photos.

Bowlers played it's last Rave event in August 2001, it was a Helter Skelter/Compulsion event. New management took over the venue, and declared no more dance events to be held @ Bowlers!!!   Apparently some guy had died a few months B4 and they were going to lose their licence.

THE OPENING OF 'LIFES' NEW VENUE

A culmination of months of planning, this new venue - based in the Manchester area - is the biggest one yet.

As opposed to past concepts - that of a "nightclub theme", Life now extends the philosophy of dance to bring you the "festival theme".   The new 60,000 sq ft Leisure Centre is embellished with all manner of light fantastic and laser phenomenon and is  guaranteed one of the biggest lighting rigs in the UK.  The sound, a genuine 60k Court System - See it, feel it, hear it.  Playing the best in House, Garage and Techno, we will astound you with the massive PAs and international DJ.  The "festival theme" is reflected in our provision of a purpose built area of entertainments providing the usual and the unusual.  You know how it will be - our professionalism never fails.

As always, your Membership status entitles you to certain privileges - namely a separate Members entrance so as to prevent queuing, discounts on merchandise, regular newsletters and flyers-by-post plus reduced admission every week after the Grand Opening.  Your present 'Life@ membership card remains valid.

"This was the very 1st flyer for Life @ Bowlers.

Back in April 1992, shortly after Pleasurdrome has closed down, we needed a new venue to move the night to. We hunted around for a couple of months and finally decided on this massive leisure centre in the middle of Trafford Park, Manchester.

This massive 60,000 SQ FT venue seemed like the perfect choice to take our 3000+ crowd (that was the Pleasuredrome) to. With a guest appearance from Carl Cox, alongside myself (DJ Welly) and Kenny Grogan, plus the quite unique MC Bibi, the night was an instant success, 4000+ clubbers continued to carry on the spirit of the Pleasuredrome.
