Rave Fashion - What sort of Raver are you?The rave scene has always had its own distinct fashion. Part free expression, part colour. This fashion has evolved over the years and in 2006 has once again made a resurgence into the main stream, though in a much more polished version that the 90's. Which sort of raver are you? | ||||||||||
RAVER BABY Happy Hardcore to the max, featuring fluffy boots and skimpy costume to be found any where there is hardcore. Sexy colourful and able to put up with almost any weather. True Party Girl tribe 10/10 Potential: BABE RAVER, UNDERCOVER RAVER |
BABE RAVER Sexy and skimpy is the order of the day. A bit more individual than the Raver Baby, but still skantily dressed and sexy. We love them, and can only ask for more more more. Potential: RAVER BABY, UNDERCOVER RAVER |
OLD SKOOL RAVERS Taking you back to 1992 these people like it retro. Boiler suits, chemical suits, dummies and masks are the order of the day. Fashion is not an issue, hardcore raving is a certainty. If it gets to hot they are the first to strip off. Potential: CUSTOM RAVERS, RAVER BABIES Where does wearing boiler suits at raves come from? Back in the early 90s several PAs including Altern8 and Dye Witness war chemical warfare suits during their live PAs at raves. From there people copied the style with cheaper light versions that could be cheaply worn and then thrown away when you got hot. Why do people wear dust masks? Originally these would have been covered on the inside with vicks. The vapours released would be breathed in throughout the night and this would act to intensify any rush/high from the Ecstasy the person had taken. Now its more of a fashion thing. |
CUSTOM RAVER The most innovative of all the ravers. Found the day before drawing Smiley Faces on all their clothes. These ravers really make us smile. You can see their enthusiasm a mile away and they are true dedicated followers. Though we are not to sure their items will survive the next wash. Potential: OLD SKOOL RAVERS, RAVER BABY |
UNDER COVER RAVER Found wearing the clothes you would wear to any nightclub. This crowd are not sure they are 100% ravers. They will have a good time anyway and could one day be converted, if they just let down their guard a little. Potential: PARTY RAVER, OLD SKOOL RAVER, RAVER BABY |
RAVER CREW These ravers feel there is safety in numbers. The type of outfit can vary but its important that they all look the same. You can certainly spot this group from anywhere in the venue as they are loud and certainly have a great deal of fun - you will notice them, which is the point of course. Potential: CUSTOM RAVER, RAVER BABY, OLD SKOOL RAVER |
FANCY DRESS RAVER A rarer attendee. A pure exhibitionist with, look at me intention. Some would questions their love of the music, but we say live and let live they certainly add to the flavour and atmosphere. Potential: UNDERCOVER RAVER, CUSTOM RAVER |
HIPPY RAVER More of a free party person than a true raver. But with parties short on the ground they will come to play with the rest of us, though always grumbling about the prices. Potential: UNDERCOVER RAVER |
NU RAVER Currently all the rage in wider society. Nu Ravers can be found wearing very bright clothes with Smiley faces on them. Whilst looking like a raver, and calling themselves one, these people are not into the music and are therefore only there for the fashion. On mistakenly going to a rave they are confused by the lack of boy bands/indie music. Can they be converted? Potential: UNDERCOVER RAVER, PARTY RAVER |
