4 Aces Club - Club Labrynth

Based in Dalston Lane, Hackney, London the 4 Aces Club was a licensed venue that became the home to underground rave organisation Labrynth when they were forced into becoming more legitimate due to gang threats.

The layout of the club suited to the new named nights as the venue consisted of many rooms (upwards of 10) and winding corridors and passageways.  The hardcore crowd loved the night there and there were always many happy faces.

It also included a garden that acted as an excellent chill out rooms and refuge from the mayhem inside.

During the mid 90's Labrynth purchased an old cinema behind the club and it doubled in size adding to the maze like effect of the place, as well as make the venue have more musical styles including: Old Skool, Techno, House & Drum n Bass.

In 1997 the local council decided the venue must go and purchased it to make way for a new cinema complex.  The last event there was the Last Waltz on New Year Eve.

The Labrynth organisation moved on to the Pleasure Rooms on Tottenham High Road, but it had lost its appeal and finally shut in 1999.  A brief come back was stage in 2000 at Club Mayfair but this to was unsuccessful and the club was gone for good......
